Alarm User Permits
Most jurisdictions require the alarm system to be registered with the local police department or a false alarm reduction unit (FARU).
In some cases, it is even the alarm company’s responsibility to register the alarm system. In others, the alarm company is responsible for informing the customer of the local alarm user permit requirements.
Regardless of who is responsible, failing to obtain a required install permit or failing to register a system after installation can result in fines and an inability to request dispatch.
